Paulo Fonseca is one of the top candidates to replace Stefano Pioli at AC Milan and should he get the job, then a player will follow. Indeed, Tiago Santos appears likely to make the move to the Rossoneri, a report claims.

We were the first to break Milan’s interest in the full-back, publishing it on Substack first and then here on the site, and the Rossoneri are indeed very interested. The Portuguese international has impressed with Lille and is now ready for a bigger challenge.

According to Daniele Longo on his X account, Lille manager Fonseca is the top candidate to replace Pioli for next season and his current player Santos is set to follow. The 21-year-old is Milan’s plan A for the right-back role, with Tottenham’s Emerson Royal the alternative.

It remains to be seen what Davide Calabria’s stance will be on the matter, currently the captain of the Rossoneri. With the arrival of Santos, he could lose his starting spot and at 27 years of age, that would be far from ideal.

Some rumours have suggested that he could perhaps join Pioli at Napoli, should the manager take over the Partenopei for next season. We will have to wait a few more weeks to fully understand the situation, though.
