Magic Johnson Reveals Biggest Hero in Dallas Mavericks’ Game 6 Comeback vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

Even though the Oklahoma City Thunder was the top seed this season, the Dallas Mavericks were just the better team in the playoffs. But in all of these, PJ Washington emerged as Game 6’s true hero with NBA legend Magic Johnson claiming it.

Just recently, the Mavs went home with the close 117-116 win over Oklahoma City. All-Star guard Luka Doncic led his team with a timely triple-double of 29 points, 10, rebounds, and 10 assists. Kyrie Irving and Derrick Jones Jr. each had 22 points, while Derek Lively II added 12 points and 15 rebounds from the bench.

For his part, MVP runner-up Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropped 36 points and eight assists to lead OKC in Game 6. Jalen Williams notched 22 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists, while Chet Holmgren contributed 21 points.

The win closed out the Western Conference Semifinals in favor of Dallas. They will now face whoever wins between Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets and Anthony Edwards’ Minnesota Timberwolves. The Thunder, on the other hand, end their surprising run this season with a bright future ahead of them.

After the game, various personalities gave their take on Dallas’ thrilling Game 6 win over the Thunder. After a series of tweets. praising the series’ finale, Magic Johnson revealed PJ Washington as the Mavs’ true hero in their recent win.

“PJ Washington is the unsung hero of tonight’s game!,” Johnson tweeted.

“The NBA has been fantastic throughout these Playoffs! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching all of the games,” the Lakers icon said.

“Congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks for advancing to the Western Conference Finals!” he added.

“What a game! UNBELIEVABLE finish!! The Dallas Mavericks win 117-116 vs. OKC. If you missed this game, you have to watch the fourth quarter – just phenomenal basketball!” The NBA legend reacted.

In almost 30 minutes on the court, Washington posted nine points, five rebounds, and two assists. His final play of the game baited Gilgeous-Alexander to foul him, which led to two crucial free throws that won the contest, and ultimately, the series for the Mavericks.

With the Thunder out of the way, Doncic and the Mavs can now focus on either Denver or Minnesota. In any case, this won’t be possible without Washington’s Game 6 heroics.
