Jett Williams is now the No. 1 prospect for the New York Mets according to Baseball America, which is re-ranking the prospects for all 30 MLB teams.

Williams, 19, was named the Mets’ 2023 Minor League Player of the Year in October.

He played his first season of pro baseball in 2023 after he was the Mets’ 2022 first-round pick out of Heath High School in Rockwall, Texas.

With three different affiliates — Single-A St. Lucie, High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton — he slashed .263/.425/.451/.876 with 13 home runs, 55 RBI, and 45 stolen bases. He also had 22 doubles and eight triples. His 104 walks was second-most in minor-league baseball.

He is also the first Met to reach Double-A in one calendar year since Gregg Jeffries did it in 1986.

Per MLB.com, Williams is the Mets’ No. 3 prospect and is projected to join the Mets in 2026.

Infielder Ronny Mauricio — who had 101 at-bats with the Mets at the end of the 2023 season — is ranked No. 2.

The next three ranked players are ones the Mets acquired in trades. Outfielders Drew Gilbert (No. 3) and Ryan Clifford (No. 5) were acquired from the Houston Astros in exchange for pitcher Justin Verlander.

The No. 4 prospect, infielder Luisangel Acuña, joined the Mets at midseason after the Texas Rangers included him in a trade for pitcher Max Scherzer. Acuña is the younger brother of Atlanta star Ronald Acuña Jr.

Pitcher Christian Scott is No. 6. Scott was the Mets’ Minor League Pitcher of the Year. In 18 starts at Brooklyn and Binghamton, he had a 2.42 ERA. At Binghamton he had a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 77-to-8 and had an 0.86 WHIP, which was the best among minor league pitchers that threw at least 70 innings.

The rest of the Top 10 prospects include pitcher Blake Tidwell (No. 7), infielder Colin Houck (No. 8), pitcher Mike Vasil (No. 9) and catcher Kevin Parada (No. 10).
